Tyler Andrews’ Mt. Everest Speed Record Attempt Set for May 10-11, 2025
Renowned endurance athlete Tyler Andrews has announced his speed record attempt on Mount Everest, scheduled for May 10-11, 2025. After spending six weeks in Nepal preparing for the challenge, Andrews shared his excitement and reflections on Instagram.

“It’s been a fantastic 6 weeks in Nepal,” he wrote. “But really, this has been a journey of nearly 30 years.”
In his post, Andrews looked back on the long path that led him to this moment. He recalled his journey from battling chemotherapy at Mass General Hospital in 1997 to joining his high school cross-country team in 2007 with lifelong friends Jon Waldron and Dave Wilder. Andrews then spoke about nearly a decade of professional running and his passion for climbing some of the world’s biggest mountains alongside Christopher Fisher, Conor Sleith, and many others.
“This has been a tremendously unlikely and wonderful journey to the Top of the World,” he added.
Andrews also expressed gratitude toward Mount Everest, saying, “Thank you, Apu Chomolungma, Sagarmatha, Everest, for allowing us onto your slopes.”
