Omanika Dangol, recognized for her achievements in the aviation sector and mountaineering. She serves as a senior cabin crew member for Himalaya Airlines and has made headlines for her remarkable climbing feats.
Omanika Dangol became the first Nepali cabin crew member to successfully summit Mount Everest in 2022, the highest peak in the world.
In addition to Everest, she has also scaled several other significant peaks, including Lobuche, Mera, and Island peaks, showcasing her commitment to conquering challenging terrains. She also achieved another milestone by reaching the summit of Mt. Elbrus, which is the highest peak in Europe, further establishing her reputation as an accomplished climber.
Recently she has successfully reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, becoming the first Nepali cabin crew to complete three of the seven highest mountains in the world.
Dangol’s ambition is to complete the Seven Summits challenge, which involves scaling the highest mountains on each of the seven continents. After climbing Kilimanjaro (5,895m) and Europe’s highest peak, Elbrus (5,642m),
Dangol now has four more mountains to climb to achieve this feat, Aconcagua in South America, Denali in North America, Mount Vinson in Antarctica, and Puncak Jaya in Australia-Oceania.
Beyond her personal mountaineering goals, Dangol’s Seven Summit Project aims to raise awareness and support for the establishment of an Elderly Parents’ Home, providing a much-needed residence for elderly people who may not have the opportunity to live with their children in their later years.
