Nepal’s two strongest global signifiers are Everest and Buddha. After the Gen‑Z movement jolted our politics and as the government expands the cabinet, this is precisely the moment to put that identity to work. We don’t need another pitchman for packages; we need a custodian. A tourism minister who doesn’t just market mountains and monasteries, but lives them, someone from the Himalayan belt, who carries a knowledge in mountaineering and a reverent, practical respect for Buddhist heritage. The brief is simple: make Nepal trustworthy on the mountain and dignified at the monastery. If this cabinet expansion means anything, let it mean this: choose a leader from the mountain communities who understands Everest and Buddhism, so our national brand is not a brochure but a promise kept.
