The Challengers: Game of Himalayas” is the first international reality show produced by Nepali filmmakers under the World Vlog Challenge.
The show premiered at the historic AMC Theater in New York, USA, while in Nepal, it was screened at Labim Mall with the honorable KP Sharma Oli as the chief guest, along with the presence of Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey.
The Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy, Jason P. Meeks, along with other diplomats, administrators, and artists, were also present.
Famous mountaineers Kami Rita Sherpa and Mingma David Sherpa guided the 11 world-renowned vloggers, presenting them with adventurous challenges on their journey from Lukla to Everest Base Camp. The show is hosted by popular Indian TV host and DJ Nikhil Chinapa.
This is the first international reality show filmed on Mount Everest and released on Popular Prime Video, directed and produced by Nepali producer Shree Gurung.
During the event, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli underlined the safety of Nepali airports, particularly Lukla airport. He highlighted Nepal’s expert pilots and the country’s commitment to aviation safety, stressing that the show promotes Nepal as an ideal tourist destination.
Civil Aviation Minister Badri Prasad Pandey pledged government support for such initiatives that promote filmmakers and Nepal globally.
The Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy, Jason P. Meeks, praised the successful production of the show and encourage all his family members to watch the show in the United States, stating that it would promote Nepal’s tourism.
